(TNND) — For the first time in the University of Alabama's history, a sitting President will deliver the commencement speech at its graduation ceremony. President Donald Trump announced on his Truth Social account that he will be the keynote speaker for the event, scheduled for the weekend of May 2nd.
"I have agreed to do the Commencement Address at two really GREAT places, the University of Alabama and, WEST POINT," Trump stated in his post. "Stay tuned for times and dates!!! DJT."
In addition to his appearance at the University of Alabama, Trump will also return to West Point to deliver the commencement address, a role he last fulfilled in 2020.
Trump is familiar with Tuscaloosa, having attended two major football games there, including last season's significant matchup against Georgia.
