Former Hutchinson County Sheriff Blaik Kemp was indicted for stalking.

A Potter Country grand jury incited Kemp, 32, following his arrest earlier this month.

According to the indictment, Kemp sent the victim "repeated electronic communications" in March 2023, while he was sheriff, "with (the) intent to harass, annoy, alarm, abuse, torment or embarrass (her)."

A Special Agent with DPS in Moore County noticed the arrest warrant on April 7. He called Kemp and asked him to come meet with them. When Kemp arrived at the DPS office in Moore County, he was taken into custody.

Kemp is out of jail on a $20,000 bond.

About four months after the alleged stalking incident, Kemp announced he would not seek re-election. Kemp was elected in 2020 as one of the the youngest elected sheriffs in Texas.
