The Department of Justice is redirecting funds initially designated for transgender ideology and Department of Equity and Inclusion initiatives to bolster law enforcement efforts.

This decision follows a request from Senate Judiciary Chair Chuck Grassley for clarification on the reallocation of $811 million in grants.

According to The Daily Wire, Pam Bondi and her staff responded to Grassley's inquiry, revealing that the majority of the funds were previously awarded to non-governmental entities and causes not aligned with the current administration's priorities.

In a letter to Grassley, the Attorney General's office detailed the new allocation of funds, stating they would be used for "supporting law enforcement operations, combating violent crime, protecting American children, supporting American victims of trafficking and sexual assault, and enhancing coordination among law enforcement at all levels of government."

The reallocation comes amid concerns about the placement of individuals in correctional facilities. Nationwide, hundreds of men identifying as women were reportedly moved to women's facilities despite having histories of violent crimes against women and children.
