AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — A woman who helped rob a Family Dollar and Toot'n Totum in Amarillo faces 15 years in federal prison.
Rosalinda Martinez will be sentenced on Wednesday.
On April 8, 2024, Martinez and Christian Coronado robbed the Family Dollar at 1000 S. Grand Street.
According to court documents, surveillance video shows Martinez walk up-and-down each aisle, "casing the store."
About five minutes after she left, Coronado came in wearing a black face mask, dark colored gloves, dark colored pants, a black Randall Raiders hoodie, and a pair of white athletic shoes.
He pulled out a gun and yelled "I'm not playing. This is real. I want everything right now! Come on!"
Coronado then pointed the gun at the clerk.
"I'm not playing. Hurry up or I'm going to shoot you and not in the leg. I'm going to kill you if you don't hurry up!" Coronado said.
As the clerk opened the register, Coronado fired the gun, hitting the counter. He took money and left.
Martinez told police she drove Coronado to and from the Family Dollar on April 8. She also admitted she was a convicted felon and the gun used in the robbery was in her house. Police recovered a Hi-Point .380 caliber pistol.
She pleaded guilty on Dec. 18 to convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
As part of the plea deal, the court will dismissed the other two counts – conspiracy to affect commerce by robbery, and affecting commerce by robbery
Martinez faces up to 15 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.
According to court documents, Coronado used same gun to rob a Toot'n Totum on April 5, 2024.
Police got a call from the clerk at the Dollar General at 4308 S. Washington Street. They said a suspicious man wearing all black, including a Randall Raiders hoodie, had been inside the store.
While police were responding to the Dollar General, they were dispatched to a robbery at the Toot'n Totum at 3609 S. Washington Street.
A man wearing all black, including a Randall Raiders hoodie, pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money.
Surveillance video showed Coronado "press the gun into the clerk's back."
Coronado took money from the register and left.
APD and the FBI said Martinez drove Coronado to and from Toot'n Totum.
Coronado, pleaded guilty on Jan. 10 to affecting commerce by robbery (Count 2), and brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence (Count 3).
The court dismissed three other counts.
He faces:
Coronado is scheduled to be sentenced on June 3.
