CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Over 200,000 car seats were recalled due to an issue that increases the risk of choking and injury to children.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued a recall for 179,845 car seats from the brand Dorel Juvenile Group after receiving "13 cases of a child who placed a piece of the... headrest foam into their mouth."

The recall concerned multiple models of the Safety 1st Grow and Go Sprint. Those model numbers were:

  • CC321GYU
  • CC321GYUD
  • CC321GYY
  • CC321GYYD
  • CC321HAO
  • CC321HAR

The recall noted that a free "recall kit" would be sent to those who purchased the product that will allow them to install a replacement foam headrest. Letters are expected to be sent out to affected owners in mid-June.
