AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — A former Amarillo and Canyon ISD teacher accused of child sex crimes was indicted Wednesday following his sixth arrest.
A Randall County grand jury indicted Patrick Kenneth Farmer, 57, on one count of indecency with a child sexual contact.
According to the criminal complaint obtained by ABC 7 News, Farmer touched the genitals of a girl under the age of 17.
The alleged incident happened in December 2000.
In 2006, Farmer pleaded guilty in Randall County to four counts of indecency with a child sexual contact and was sentenced to six years probation.
On September 11, 2024, he was arrested for indecency with a child sexual contact. That case is still pending.
Farmer was indicted by a Potter County grand jury in November 2024 on two counts of indecency with a child sexual contact.
According to court records, he was arrested four other times in Randall County on similar charges.
All of the alleged incidents happened between December 2000 and June 2005.
A civil lawsuit against Paramount Baptist Church, where Farmer worked from 1995-2004, was settled in 2009.
The lawsuit claimed Farmer, a child care worker, was inappropriate around children, and that complaints about Farmer's behavior were ignored, including a letter from a former employee warning not to let him work with children.
Farmer taught at Lakeview Elementary from 2000-2001, according to Canyon ISD.
Amarillo ISD said he resigned as a substitute teacher in August 1993.
Farmer's teaching certificate was revoked by the state in 2007.
