INDONESIA (WKRC) - A mother was cut out from a python after she was swallowed alive Saturday.
According to TMZ,the victim, identified only as Farida, had been walking through the forest near her home in Kalumpang, Indonesia, when she was bitten by a python. Per the outlet, the mother of four was then strangled by the snake and swallowed.
According to CBS News, village head Suardi Rosi told AFP that the woman had gone missing Thursday night and didn't return home, which led to a search effort. The woman's husband said he"found her belongings, which made him suspicious. The villagers then searched the area. They soon spotted a python with a large belly," Rosi told the outlet.
"They agreed to cut open the python's stomach. As soon as they did, Farida's head was immediately visible," the village head told AFP.
According to the network, Farida was found fully clothed within the snake.
Reticulated pythons have dozens of sharp, curved teeth, which they use to latch hold of their prey before squeezing them to death and swallowing them whole. The snakes, which regularly grow to lengths of over 16 feet, are known to eat pigs, monkeys and other mammals.
The woman is the fifth person to be swallowed by a python in the country since 2017, per CBS.
