LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A man accused of two separate murders allegedly lured one victim to a desert area near Las Vegas with the promise of a job picking up trash, according to a police report.
D'Andre Owens, 30, was re-booked this week for the murder of a man whose remains were found near Lake Mead Boulevard and Pabco Road on August 9, 2024.
In the arrest report for the Pabco Road murder, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said family members hadn't heard from the victim, identified in the report as Edward John Kukish, since January 2024.
A forensic examination of a cartridge case found near Kukish's body found the same stamp from the January 2024 murder of Brittani Bailey, whose body was found in a Las Vegas Strip hotel room.
Owens was arrested and charged for Bailey's murder in February last year and has been held at Clark County Detention Center since then.
A comparison of the bullets from the two murders found they were all fired through a silencer, police wrote.
Detectives found Kukish responded to a job posting created by Owens for "Desert Trash Pick Up," and they recovered a string of text messages about the job.
Police allege Owens enticed Kukish with the job offer, took him to a desolate area and shot him.
Owens is scheduled to appear in court for Kukish's murder on Monday, March 3. He is also scheduled to head to trial for Bailey's murder in September.
